"Leonid Yermoshkin’s fine art photography transforms fleeting moments into evocative works that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Rooted in retro nostalgia and surreal sensibility, his images invite viewers to reconnect with memory and emotion through a poetic, dreamlike lens." Bank Art Gallery

about.

As a photographer, I navigate through life with my cameras, turning moments into evocative works of art. My work as a fine art photographer explores retro nostalgia fused with a touch of surrealism. I aim to evoke a longing for the past while blurring the lines between reality and imagination. Through a carefully curated aesthetic, I invite viewers to reconnect with forgotten memories and immerse themselves in dreamlike worlds that challenge perception.

Over time, my approach and vision have continually evolved in response to shifts in my artistic interests, curiosities, and growing understanding of the medium. Recently, I have been gravitating toward an open-ended style of fine art photography. Instead of approaching nature with a specific subject or desired conditions in mind, I prefer to explore a broad area, moving through it intuitively and waiting for spontaneous moments of visual inspiration to guide my compositional choices. Once an idea sparks my curiosity, I explore its potential and then move on to the next inspired moment. This fluid, ongoing process deepens my engagement with the creative experience, fostering an intuitive, reactive, spontaneous, and fresh mindset.

For me, the true reward of fine art photography lies in its ability to draw me into a continuous dance between myself, the subject, and the evolving moment, leading to images that are felt as much as they are seen.

The raven carries dual meanings: it signifies death and transformation, and it also symbolizes wisdom, intelligence, and magic through its link to the spirit world and hidden knowledge. In various cultures, the raven is viewed as a messenger, a psychopomp (guiding between worlds), a creator, or a trickster, embodying traits such as foresight, intuition, and the cycle of life and death.
